The Safest Places to Walk Your Animals

If you live in a neighborhood or city where there are no sidewalks in which to walk your dog, you may want to consider looking at a few alternative places. It is important to choose someplace in a safe neighborhood, with little to no traffic and smooth terrain.

Consider driving your dog to a local park. Many parks have paved sidewalks, so you won’t have to worry about walking in uneven or slippery grass. Also, you will not have to worry about cars because most parks have paths that lead away from the traffic.

A local dog park may be suitable to your needs, but be aware that some dog parks allow dogs to roam off-leash. If you are afraid of other dogs wandering up to you and possibly knocking you down or scaring you, this may not be your best option.

Be sure that the place that you choose to walk your dog has well lit paths if you are walking at dusk or at night. Also, carry a cell phone in case of emergency no matter where you go and try not to walk too far away from your car in case you need to return to it quickly.
